{"id":654,"date":"2018-11-25T12:19:22","date_gmt":"2018-11-25T12:19:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/agroforestrynet.eu\/afinet\/?p=654"},"modified":"2020-01-24T12:22:55","modified_gmt":"2020-01-24T12:22:55","slug":"afinet-in-the-forest-europe-workshop-understanding-the-contribution-of-agroforestry-to-landscape-resilience-in-europe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/agroforestrynet.eu\/afinet\/archivos\/654","title":{"rendered":"AFINET in the Forest Europe Workshop \u201cUnderstanding the contribution of Agroforestry to landscape resilience in Europe\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Ministry of Agriculture of Hungary hosted in Budapest, on the 9<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0and 10<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0of October 2018, the joint Forest Europe and FAO Workshop \u201cUnderstanding the contribution of Agroforestry to landscape resilience in Europe\u201d, with the aim to put into practice the Madrid Ministerial Resolution 2 Protection of forests in changing environment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/foresteurope.org\/event\/13961\/%20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">FOREST EUROPE<\/a>\u00a0(or Ministerial Conference on the Protection of Forests in Europe) is the pan-European voluntary high-level political process for dialogue and cooperation on forest policies in Europe. FOREST EUROPE Work Programme for 2016-2020 includes a specific activity focused on sharing expertise and experience on agroforestry as a way on how to contribute to climate change adaptation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Around 80 people attended the workshop \u201cUnderstanding the contribution of Agroforestry to landscape resilience in Europe\u201d, and considered it a milestone in European agroforestry.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">AFINET coordinator, Rosa Mosquera, presented &#8220;Policies and governance needed to enhance agroforestry&#8221;, and the researcher Mercedes Rois presented the driving forces of farmers to implement agroforestry and the AFINET agroforestry innovations in Finland.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">While the 1<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0day had the contribution from these and other keynotes, the 2<sup>nd<\/sup>\u00a0day was devoted to discussions in parallel sessions and to a field trip to trials of black locust (<em>Robinia pseudoacacia<\/em>) and triticale.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Ministry of Agriculture of Hungary hosted in Budapest, on the 9th\u00a0and 10th\u00a0of October 2018, the joint Forest Europe and FAO Workshop \u201cUnderstanding the contribution of Agroforestry to landscape resilience in Europe\u201d, with the aim to put into practice the Madrid Ministerial Resolution 2 Protection of forests in changing environment.
