{"id":5011,"date":"2019-11-28T17:04:27","date_gmt":"2019-11-28T17:04:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/agroforestrynet.eu\/afinet\/archivos\/5011"},"modified":"2021-01-05T18:26:49","modified_gmt":"2021-01-05T18:26:49","slug":"portuguese-afinet-training-session-entitled-use-of-keyline-for-water-management-in-agroforestry-systems","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/agroforestrynet.eu\/afinet\/archivos\/5011?lang=el","title":{"rendered":"Portuguese AFINET training session entitled \u201cUse of Keyline for water management in agroforestry systems\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Portuguese AFINET training session entitled \u201cUse of Keyline for water management in agroforestry systems\u201d took place on the 20<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0of November 2019, at ISA.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;The Portuguese Innovation broker, Joana Amaral Paulo (Centro de Estudos Florestais\/Instituto Superior de Agronomia) started the event and presented the AFINET project\u2019s results and all the dissemination materials. Attendees were also given printed versions of the translated AFINET factsheets and the Agforward leaflets also translated in the context of the AFINET project.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Thirteen agroforestry multipliers attended the AFINET training session. Joana\u2019s presentation was followed by a presentation by Jes\u00fas Ruiz Gamez, from\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lineaclave.org\/web\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Linea Clave<\/a>\u00a0on \u201cKeyline techniques for water management\u201d. The main features of keyline techniques were described in an interactive way with the participants.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">One of the attendees talked about her successful experience with the use of keylines in her fruit tree orchard, as a result of a project developed by Linea Clave in previous years. Several other keyline projects which were already implemented were shown, some of them in Portugal, in the centre and southern regions of the country. Attendees were free to ask questions, namely how to better adapt this technique to sloping areas or afforestation projects.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The farm machinery used for keyline implementation were presented. Specific issues related to the implementation of the keyline technique in cork oak stands where\u00a0<em>Phytophthora cinnamomi<\/em>\u00a0is present were emphasized.
